Work Experience at Heat Magazine | Week Two

Week 2 Day 1: Top - New Look, Acid Wash Jeans - Matalan
Week 2 Day 2: Crop Top - Topshop, Floral Midi Skirt - Dorothy Perkins
Week 2 Day 3: Dress - New Look (wearing my fashion workie pass!)
Week 2 Day 4: Crop Top - Topshop, Skirt - New Look
Week 2 Day 5 / My Last Day :( - Dress - New Look, Cardigan - New Look

I cannot believe how fast my two weeks at Heat went! This week I was doing a majority of the same times I was doing in my first week like returns and transcribing interviews (This week I had to write up an interview with Union J! - who also came into the office on Friday!).

As a thank you, they gave a bag of goodies including makeup and hair products which was so lovely of them!

I was quite upset to leave on Friday  as I had the best two weeks and am looking forward to applying to intern at other magazines, hopefully in the near future!

Day 2: Top - Primark, Cardigan - New Look, Printed Joggers - New Look
Day 3: Dress - Topshop
Day 4: Cropped Top - Topshop, Skirt - River Island
Day 5: Floral Co-ord Set - New Look

Can't believe that my first week at Heat is already over, its went so quickly! My first day I was really nervous but the nerves soon went when I met the lovely fashion team. I had a great week and my tasks for the week included: sorting through make-up in the fashion cupboard, sending back clothes and accessories to the PR companies, running errands for the team (On Wednesday I went to buy a perfume from Liberty London), looking up prices of products for the magazine, transcribing interviews (one of the interviews was with Lydia Bright from TOWIE)and the best thing; writing 'who wore it best' articles for the website!

My first week went really well and I'm looking forward to my next week!

My articles I wrote for heatworld.com:

Who Wore It Best - Jourdan Dunn vs Jennifer Lopez
Who Wore It Best - Alexa Chung vs Paloma Faith
Who Wore It Best - Kimberley Walsh vs Bella Thorne

Work Experience at Heat Magazine | Day One

OOTD: Bit of a blurry photo but here is my outfit from my first day at Heat!
Top: Primark
Skirt: H&M
Kimono: New Look
Shoes (not pictured): Black lace pumps from Primark
Camera: Canon Powershot SX170 IS

Today marked the first day of my work experience at Heat magazine and as you can imagine I was a little nervous but, at the same time, sooo excited to be working at one of my favourite magazines. The Heat office is situated in the heart of London, with Covent Garden and Oxford Street on its doorstep!

I applied for this placement on the website 'gothinkbig' which is a site that helps young people gain the experience and skills they need to achieve a dream career.

My nervousness soon disappeared when I was greeted by the lovely fashion team and my supervisor was Hannah Brimson, who is Heat's junior style writer. I sat at the same desk as her and her friendly attitude made me feel welcomed into the team. I was first shown round the office and introduced to other members of the team, along with another girl who was also there for work experience.

My first task involved returning clothes, shoes and accessories to PR companies after some recent photoshoots and I had to use a website called Fashion Monitor to look up the contacts to make sure I sent them back to the right places.

After my lunch hour, I came back and finished off the returns and then was given my next task which was to sort through the beauty section in the fashion cupboard. Although this may seem like a pretty boring task to some, for someone like me who has never done any work in a fashion and beauty enviroment, it was actually interesting. By the time I knew it, it was the end of the day!

I really enjoyed my first day and am looking forward to the rest of my work experience at Heat!

My Favourite Summer Nail Polishes / 2014

L-R: Rimmel Rita Ora Collection in Breakfast in Bed, Essie Lilacism, Barry M Gelly in Greenberry, Barry M Matt White, Barry M Gelly in Grapefruit, Rimmel Rita Ora Collection in Lose Your Lingerie, Barry M Gelly in Huckleberry & (lastly!) Barry M Gelly in Blueberry

My first beauty post! Today I am doing a post on my favourite summer nail polishes for summer! I am a massive lover of nail polishes so my collection is huge so to wittle it down into just a few to feature in this post was difficult but here are my top eight.

First is one from Rita Ora collection for Rimmel, I am not a lover of the brushes on Rimmel nail polishes but I  LOVE this shade! It's a beautiful pastel mint green and for me, it is a shade that is perfect for summer. Next up is a polish by Essie, which has only been avaliable in the UK for around a year (I think?) and this is one of their most popular shades (along with Mint Candy Apple). It is Lilacism, which is a pastel lilac shade.

Next is one by Barry M and it is from their Gelly collection - Greenberry. I love everything about Barry M nail polishes.. the colour, the consistency, the affordable price - everything! It is definietly my favourite nail polish brand. I kept seeing this nail polish popping up on many blogs and when I saw it in Superdrug, I had to buy it. I love it! Next up is another by Barry M, it is a matt white shade. White nails are sometimes seen as like marmite as you either love them or hate them as they can look abit like tipex on your nails. But personally I love them. I think they look fresh and beautiful and you can rock them whatever your outfit.

The next nail polish is Grapefruit by Barry M's Gelly collection (surprise surprise!) and is a beautiful cherry pink. I love pink nails so this colour is perfect! Next up is another by Rimmel and, again, from the Rita Ora collection and is a lovely pale pastel pink. Aswell as bright nails in the summer, I also love light or nude shades and this colour is gorgeous! The next two are both by Barry M and are both from their Gelly collection. I purchased these two yesterday on a shopping trip as Superdrug currently have a 3 for 2 offer on Barry M nail polishes (how could I resist?!) which I brought along with a beautiful shade from their new summer line (which I may feature in an upcoming
post!).

Also on Monday (14th) I am starting a two-week work experience placement at Heat Magazine which I will be blogging about!

(I'm so excited!!)

Hope you are all having a great day!

My Birthday Outfit!

My second outfit post! Yesterday it was my 20th birthday and I spent the day with my family and the night before I had a night out with my friends, which was fun!

I thought I would take some photos of my outfit as I love it! I really wanted a co-ord set as I kept seeing them everywhere and when I saw this one in New Look, I had to buy it! Its a pretty coral pink with grey floral design and is really lightweight so is perfect for those hot summer days. The weather lately has been really lovely and sunny but by the time my birthday celebrations began on Friday night it changed and became cloudy and rainy (although still warm). Typical. Although the weather was not the best, that wasn't gonna stop me wearing this summer set. It is July after all.

I wore the same sandals as I did in my last post as they are soo comfy! And of course I had to wear my birthday girl badge!

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend!
